What is innovative/special about Sinupret® forte and Sinupret® Syrup?

Sinupret® forte and Sinupret® Syrup have a unique five-plant formula containing gentian root, cowslip flowers, sorrel, elderflower and vervain herb.

These plants contain highly effective bioflavonoids, which are common secondary plant ingredients that form an important part of herbal medicine. Among them, they have different properties which support in relieving mild upper respiratory tract infections and sinusitis symptoms, while also including anti-inflammatory effects as well.

Sinupret® works to relieve symptoms of sinusitis. Sinupret® forte and Sinupret® Syrup both loosen the mucus, open the nose and clear the head.

What are Sinupret® forte and Sinupret® Syrup used for?

Sinupret® forte is a herbal medicine for the relief of symptoms of sinusitis. For use in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over. Sinupret® Syrup is suitable for adults and children aged 2 and over.

When and how is the best time to take Sinupret® forte or Sinupret® Syrup?

Sinupret® forte and Sinupret® Syrup, should be taken as described in the leaflet. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the recommended dose is as follows:

Sinupret® forte:

Take Sinupret® forte 3 times daily (morning, noon, evening) unchewed, with some liquid (e.g. a glass of water). You can take Sinupret® forte with meals, with beverages or independently of meals. If you have a sensitive stomach, you should best take Sinupret® forte after meals.

Sinupret® Syrup:

Accurately measure the required dose using the measuring cup provided. Do not exceed a maximum of 3 doses in ­24 hours.

Are Sinupret® Forte and Sinupret® Syrup gluten-free?

Yes, both Sinupret® forte and Sinupret® Syrup are gluten-free.

What do I have to consider as a diabetic?

Information for diabetics can be found in the leaflet. One Sinupret® forte coated tablet contains on average 0.2g of available carbohydrates

Can I take Sinupret® forte or Sinupret® Syrup while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant. Like all medicinal products Sinupret® forte and Sinupret® Syrup should only be taken during pregnancy after an evaluation of the risks and benefits by your doctor.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed.

It is unknown whether the active substances / metabolites of Sinupret® forte and Sinupret® Syrup are excreted into breast milk. Sinupret® forte and Sinupret® Syrup should not be used during breastfeeding.

Why does Sinupret Syrup contain ethanol?

Alcohols, such as ethanol are often used as an extracting agent in the production of herbal medicines like Sinupret Syrup to obtain a high concentration of active ingredients. Ethanol is a natural preserving agent which helps to enhance the shelf life of the product without the need to use artificial preservatives, stabilizers, and other solvents. Alcohol is a natural metabolic agent. The small amount of alcohol consumed in one dose of Sinupret Syrup is not likely to impact the nervous system, thus no harmful physical effects are expected.

Can I get Sinupret® forte or Sinupret® Syrup without a prescription?

Yes, Sinupret® forte and Sinupret® Syrup do not require a prescription.

What pack sizes are there?

Sinupret® forte is available in a pack size of 20 coated tablets. Sinupret® Syrup is available in a 100 mL bottle.
